FOUNDERS
Arnel Richardson, born and raised in Baltimore, is the visionary co-founder of Baltimore Roots Development, a real estate development company dedicated to revitalizing urban communities in her hometown. A proud graduate of Western High School, Arnel's deep connection to Baltimore drives her passion for community development and commitment to creating lasting positive change in the city's urban neighborhoods.
Arnel earned her MBA from the University of North Alabama and holds a BS in Accounting from Morgan State University. Her academic background, personal experience, and professional success uniquely position her to lead transformative projects in Baltimore.
In addition to her work in real estate, Arnel is the CEO and founder of enRICH.ED Consulting LLC, where she helps families navigate the complexities of higher education with a focus on minimizing costs and reducing the need for student loans. This dedication to empowering others is a hallmark of her approach at Baltimore Roots Development, where she and her husband, Gary Richardson, strive to build properties and stronger, more vibrant communities that reflect Baltimore's rich history and culture.
Arnel's leadership at Baltimore Roots Development is marked by a deep respect for the city's past and an unwavering commitment to its future, ensuring that revitalization efforts enhance the lives of current residents while preserving the character that makes Baltimore unique.
Gary Richardson, married to Arnel Richardson, is a proud father of three children: Gewel, Gem, and Gary Richardson Jr. Each of them is making remarkable strides in their academic and professional journeys. Gewel is an undergraduate at Alabama A&M, Gem is an Alabama State graduate pursuing a master's degree in Behavioral Health, and Gary Jr. is a rising senior at Tennessee State University.Born and raised in West Baltimore, Gary attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and went on to earn a BS in Business Management and later an MBA from Morgan State University.
His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate several businesses in Baltimore before embarking on his first real estate flip in 2003, which fueled his passion for urban development.As the co-founder of Baltimore Roots Development LLC, Gary has led the rehabilitation of properties at 3830 Boarman Ave, 4039 Fairfax Rd, and 3200 Ferndale Ave, transforming them into vibrant, modern living spaces. His commitment to improving the blight in Baltimore is evident in his work, which focuses on providing affordable, sustainable housing that revitalizes disinvested neighborhoods.
Gary is also the founder of High Risk High Reward, a non-profit dedicated to supporting at-risk youth by offering targeted services and resources to help them overcome challenges and reach their full potential. This mission aligns with his development work, as creating safe, sustainable housing directly contributes to a more stable and supportive environment for the youth of Baltimore, fostering a brighter future for the city
